Bring in and show the class an everyday object (e.g. food, trinket, cosmetic, etc.). Choose one element found in that object to focus on. Write the symbol and name of the element on the board. Then, from memory, in less than five minutes, teach the class:
What is the history of this element? When was it discovered? Where? By whom?
How did the element get its name?
Where do we get this element? How much of it is in the Earth's crust?
What is ONE interesting fact you found about this element?
Below is a schedule for everyone's show-n-tell. As soon as you know what element you'd like to present, let Dr. O know, and he will add it to the Google sheet. Please no duplicates within the same class. Need to switch dates? Find someone to trade with, and let Dr. know, and he'll make the change.
